Some of the uses for dental bonding:
- Repairing chips and fractures
- Lengthening teeth that are shorter than others
- Making teeth a more uniform shape
- Concealing deep staining or discoloration
- Closing up gaps between teeth, especially the two front teeth
To prepare a tooth for dental bonding, the surface of the tooth must be lightly etched so the bonding material will adhere tightly to it. Bonding material matched to the color of the tooth is then applied, shaped and hardened.
